Eric Stoclet

Financial Services, C-Suite Executive, Athlete

Eric has over 40 years of experience in financial services and finance, and ran Citigroup’s businesses in three countries amongst other accolades.

Eric has operated at senior levels, including board and C-suite, in various geographies across the world.

He has extensive experience in:

  • corporate finance

  • capital markets

  • debt restructuring

  • turnaround situations (covering various industries)

  • real estate lending

  • advisory

  • management of NPL portfolios (through the acquisition and divestiture cycle)

  • property management.

Eric started his career at Citigroup in corporate and investment banking and did subsequent stints in workouts and restructurings, risk, private banking, special situations and real estate financing and advisory.

He subsequently was part of the senior team that set up and launched Noor Bank in Dubai, then became CEO of a mortgage servicing business in the UK, spent eight years with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank initially at a senior level in risk and running the restructuring bank, and then setting up their commercial real estate lending business, and finally took up the role of CFO at a Dubai real estate developer of sustainable communities.

During his career, Eric originated, structured and syndicated over $50 billion in financing to corporations, real estate, high net worth individuals, and large-scale projects in telecom and energy, restructured/worked out $6 billion of unrelated credit exposure, was a member of the Asset and Liabilities Committees (ALCO) of four financial institutions, was chief executive officer and sat on the board of two companies, and was CFO of another.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Eric values quality time with his family with whom he shares his passion for travel, ignited during a fourteen-month solo backpacking trip through Latin America in the early '80s. Remarkably, at the age of 62, with no prior experience in running and biking, and only recreational swimming experience, Eric embraced triathlons. He completed his first half Ironman at 65, participated in three more, and, at the age of 70, continues to actively engage in shorter races.
